Meet Kaitie

Hey new friends! I'm Kaitie, a photographer based in Victoria, BC, Canada! I've had over ten years of experience in this wonderful industry creating and capturing beautiful moments.

Photography means a lot to me, especially because I’ve never been the best at remembering all the little moments in life. Photos help me hold onto things I’d probably forget otherwise.

We’ve all lost people, or let moments pass us and sometimes a photo feels like the only thing we have left of them. I even catch myself flipping through my cringey middle school selfies and thinking, “Thank you, little me, for being so obsessed with documenting everything.”

When I first started my journey, I thought I wanted to be a film maker. I went to film camp for many years and worked with some industry professionals. I decided that my real interest was still photos, so I made the bold choice of making story telling through photography my full time job! I'm now venturing back into video... which you may have noticed, more info on that coming soon!

What's my approach?

I want you to show up exactly as you are. I’m not here to micromanage or force everything into some perfect-looking version of your life.

How would I describe myself?

At heart, I’m an introvert, so I totally relate to the nerves of meeting someone new or being in front of a camera. Truth is, I usually feel the same way walking into a session but I always remind myself it will be easy once I get into the flow of the session.

I love animals, crafts, thrifting, exploring new spots, and learning anything I can about the world. I spent years bartending and shooting nightlife, but now I’m all about quiet nights in with my cats and husband.

Even with my introverted brain, something clicks when I’m photographing people. I come out of my shell in a way I can’t really explain. My goal is always to make things feel easy and low-pressure. If you're feeling awkward .... same. We’ll embrace it together and turn it into something fun!
