A bit about me

Hello! Thanks for stopping by, my name is Kaitie, I'm a photographer based in Victoria, BC, Canada! I've had over ten years of experience in this wonderful industry creating and capturing beautiful moments.
Photography means a lot to me, especially because I’ve never been the best at remembering all the little moments in life. Photos help me hold onto things I’d probably forget otherwise.
We’ve all lost people, or let moments pass us and sometimes a photo feels like the only thing we have left of them, like a tiny time capsule you can hold onto. I even catch myself flipping through my cringey middle school selfies and thinking, “Thank you, little me, for being so obsessed with documenting everything.” It might’ve felt silly then, but now? Priceless.
When I first started my journey, I thought I wanted to be a film maker. I went to film camp for many years and worked with some industry professionals. I decided that my real interest was still photos, so I made the bold choice of making story telling through photography my full time job!
So what's my approach?
I just want you to be you. I’m not gonna over-direct or try to turn the session into some overly polished, fake version of your life. No intense posing, no wild retouching. Just real moments, real connection, and the kind of photos that actually feel like you when you look back on them.
How would I describe myself?
I’m an introvert at heart, so I totally get how nerve-wracking it can be to get in front of the camera ... or meet someone new.
Honestly, I’m probably just as nervous to meet you!
(people are scary, right?).
I love animals, crafts, thrifting, visiting beautiful locations and exploring and learning about the world.
I used to be a bartender and was always up late photographing clubs and shows, but since have found peace with staying in at night and relaxing with my cats.
Regardless of my introverted thoughts, people are always shocked to find out that I am that way. I somehow find a way to push that aside and come alive during sessions and events. I'd like to thank my highschool acting teacher for that one!
My goal is always to make things feel easy and low-pressure. If you're feeling awkward .... same. We’ll embrace it together and turn it into something fun!
If you’re reading this and thinking “okay wait, this feels right” then heck yes, hopefully I get to work with you soon!
